An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Amazon’s Pan EU Indirect Tax Planning and Advisory team, reporting to the Indirect Tax Director. This is a position at the senior manager level, based in London but which is likely to require regular travel to other European locations. The role is focused primarily on Amazon’s Retail business, but may also support our operations/logistics sector and international expansions.
The successful candidate would provide business partnering to senior level colleagues in business units and key partner teams such as finance, legal, accounting and tech. Typical issues are new product/business launches, responding to legislative/case law changes and assisting with restructures and re‑orgs. In addition, significant input and leadership into tax authority audits, queries and investigations is expected.
The role will primarily focus on VAT, but will also provide strategic leadership on the non‑VAT indirect tax portfolio, including excise duties, sugar taxes and plastic packaging taxes. We require excellent technical skills in VAT; a working familiarity with other taxes and the ability to manage external advisers is also essential. The successful candidate should be comfortable using process and technology in tax matters, including emerging technologies such as generative AI. No coding experience is required, but an ability to work with such tools is essential.

About The Team
Led by a director, the team provides tax planning/advisory support across European retail and operations businesses and supports international expansions. The team is based primarily in London and Luxembourg, with members in numerous European cities.
Basic Qualifications
* 10+ years experience in global law/accounting practice or blue‑chip global business
* Strong analytical skills
* Excellent verbal and written communications
* Self‑starting mindset
