Position
Wirral Council is looking for an Experienced Social Worker to join our Adult Safeguarding (MASH) Team. The role is part of our national ambition to deliver the best possible future for residents through high‑quality safeguarding practice.
Responsibilities
* Screen adult safeguarding concerns and determine appropriate action.
* Undertake Section 42 enquiries in line with Care Act duties.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with service users and professionals.
* Apply knowledge of safeguarding legislation, including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
* Work closely with vulnerable adults and families to deliver positive outcomes that consider the person’s views and wishes.
Qualifications & Experience
* UK‑registered Social Worker (registered with Social Work England).
* Significant experience in adult safeguarding.
* Demonstrable knowledge of safeguarding frameworks and guidance.
* Valid DBS check.
Working Conditions
36 hours per week with various shift patterns (7.2‑hour days) covering 9‑5pm Monday to Friday.
Supported by a dedicated Professional Standards Team that offers learning and development opportunities.
Visa sponsorship is available for eligible non‑UK residents under the skilled‑worker route.
