We’re looking for a Software Engineer – DevOps to join our London team. In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of software engineering and cloud infrastructure to build the core systems that enable our global engineering organisation to ship software at scale. This role is based in our London office with a hybrid setup, typically 3 days in the office. Get to know our Engineering team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be joining the Foundations team. We treat infrastructure, CI/CD and developer tooling as software products, engineered with the same care as customer-facing systems to increase velocity, reliability and security across Deliveroo. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like: Architect and automate infrastructure using Go to improve developer workflows and enhance platform capabilities. Design and operate secure, scalable systems within AWS, balancing high performance with operational excellence. Engineer robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CircleCI or Buildkite to streamline global deployment cycles. Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards to ensure automated, repeatable environment management across the stack. Enhance system reliability by troubleshooting complex production issues and improving observability across application and infrastructure layers. Partner with engineering teams to define best practices for deployment, release management and cloud architecture. What You’ll Need to Thrive Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others: Strong experience building and operating CI/CD systems using tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI or Buildkite. Experience writing and maintaining production-quality software, including proficiency in a language such as Go. Solid AWS knowledge, including core services, networking, IAM and cloud-native architecture principles. Proven ability to work with GitHub, including workflow automation and repository management. Experience with infrastructure as code and automated environment management. Strong understanding of reliability, observability and operational best practices. Ability to debug complex systems and work effectively across multiple engineering teams. Why Join Us?
