Assistant Accountant

Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

We are a Group Company with reputable global brands, looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Watford.
The Role
This is a hands-on accounting role supporting day-to-day finance operations and month-end processes across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily bank reconciliations and multi-currency cashbook updates
* Processing purchase ledger invoices, credits and supplier statements
* Maintaining AP and nominal ledgers, journals and fixed asset register
* Preparing weekly payment runs and cash flow reports
* Uploading and allocating payments via online banking
* Assisting with VAT preparation and month-end procedures
* Processing staff expenses and intercompany transactions
* Liaising with suppliers and internal teams
* Supporting ad-hoc finance reporting and tasks
About You
* AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial accounting (accountancy practice experience desirable)
* Strong working knowledge of SAGE 200 or similar accounting systems
* Experience with ERP systems and Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables minimum)
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to meet strict deadlines
