CAREERROUTE
Are you a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer who wants more than just another design role?
At Pettit Singleton Associates (PSA), you will not simply produce calculations and drawings. You will lead electrical design input, advise clients directly, mentor developing engineers and help shape projects from early concept through to completion.
This role suits an engineer who enjoys technical detail, practical problem solving, client contact and taking ownership. For the right person, there is a clear opportunity to progress towards Principal Engineer and Associate level.
Big enough to cope, small enough to care.
PSA works on meaningful, technically varied projects while retaining the visibility, support and responsiveness of a close-knit consultancy team.
ABOUT US
Pettit Singleton Associates is a building services engineering design consultancy with offices at Preston Docklands and Warwick Bridge, Carlisle. We provide practical, intelligent and well-coordinated mechanical, electrical and public health design solutions for clients across a wide range of sectors.

* Balance technical quality, programme, budget and commercial requirements.
* Mentor junior engineers, graduates and apprentices.
* Support fee proposals, bids and client presentations where required.
* Contribute to PSA’s technical standards, quality processes and future growth.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
* A good understanding of UK electrical design standards, regulations and industry guidance.
* The ability to apply first principles, engineering judgement and practical problem solving.
* Experience managing design deliverables, clients and project priorities.
* Good commercial awareness and an understanding of quality, time and cost constraints.
* Confidence communicating with clients, contractors and design teams.
* The ability to mentor and support less experienced engineers.
* A positive, collaborative approach and pride in doing the job properly.
EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE USEFUL
The following would be beneficial but are not essential:
* Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Electrical Engineering or a related subject.

* The chance to mentor and develop the next generation of engineers.
* A team culture where people help each other and take pride in high-quality engineering.
