Join us as a Software Engineer at our Centre of Excellence for X-Ray equipment, based in Royston. You'll take the lead in delivering powerful, high-quality software that drives innovation across a dynamic range of products, from engaging customer-facing applications to cutting-edge embedded firmware and essential production and R&D tools.
You'll be at the heart of the entire software development lifecycle, working hand-in-hand with talented global teams to create solutions that not only meet technical excellence but also drive real business impact.
What You'll Do
* Lead and support timely delivery of software projects, ensuring high quality and performance
* Convert product specs into effective software solutions and verify they meet requirements
* Establish and improve coding standards, development methods, and processes
* Maintain and support the Safeline X-Ray product line, including application software, diagnostic tools, production data tools, and embedded firmware
* Collaborate with remote teams and field staff to create custom software solutions
* Mentor development and testing teams to encourage best practices
* Communicate with Sales, Service, Quality, and Production teams to gather requirements and share field insights
* Identify opportunities for improvement based on field feedback and emerging technologies
What You Need to Succeed
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline
* Strong hands-on experience with C++, C#, .NET in a production environment
* Experience with Azure DevOps and working in an Agile / Scrum environment
* Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
* Strong team player and motivator; able to foster a positive and high-performing culture
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to root-cause complex issues
