Due to planned works, we are seeking a Safety Adviser to join their team in the Hunter Valley. The Safety Adviser will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of outage operations. This position requires a proactive approach to workplace health and safety (WHS), supporting the delivery of high-quality projects while fostering a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to continuous improvement and will implement solutions that enhance safety and team morale. The role: Implement and maintain safety management systems in line with industry best practices, WHS legislation, and SafeWork NSW requirements. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with team members to develop and review risk assessments and safe work method statements (SWMS). Provide training, guidance, and support to team members on safety protocols and procedures. Promote a culture of safety through the delivery of safety meetings, toolbox talks, and workshops. Lead investigations into safety incidents and near misses, ensuring thorough reporting and analysis. Implement corrective actions and follow up on safety improvements. Foster a supportive work environment that encourages open communication and teamwork. Recognise and celebrate safety achievements within the team. Liaise with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and contractors to ensure adherence to safety standards. Participate in safety committees and contribute to the development of safety policies. What we're looking for: Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent. Proven experience in a safety role within high-risk environments. Familiarity with high-risk work procedures and regulations. Strong understanding of WHS legislation, industry standards, and SafeWork NSW requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage and motivate teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Ability to work a roster form 7am to 5pm / Monday to Saturday. There may be some night work requirements.
