We are recruiting an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Essex, on a 3-month contract.
Benefits
* Rate: £70-75 per hour (inside of IR35 and through umbrella)
* Contract: 3-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
* Working pattern: full-time (37‑40 hours per week)
* Work from office 1 day a week and travel in area 2 days a week
Responsibilities
* Carry out site inspections and plan checking (minimum 2 days on site per week)
* Attend to dangerous structures
* Carry out enforcement of the Building Regulations and Building Act as necessary
* Supervise senior, junior surveyors and admin staff
* Deputise for the Building Control Manager when required
* Assist the Building Control Manager in the implementation of the BSR operational standards
* Assist the Building Control Manager in procedural changes to the service
* Plan checking
Qualifications
* Professional qualifications from one of the chartered institutes with a specialism in Building Control
* Minimum Class 2F Registration and Chartered with CIOB / RICS / CABE
* Experience within a similar post
* Social housing experience
