Senior Commercial Manager – Public Sector Consultancy – Up to £850/day
Our client, a leading consultancy operating in the public sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial strategy and execution across complex, high-value bids.
📍 Location: UK Based (remote)
✈️ Travel: Occasional travel to Manchester
💼 Contract: Day rate, Inside IR35
💰 Rate: Up to £850/day
🇬🇧 Eligibility: UK-based candidates only
✅ Experience Required: Must have led large-scale public sector bids on behalf of a consultancy
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead commercial strategy, deal shaping, and negotiations for priority public sector bids
* Advise on contracting models and client engagement strategies
* Oversee pricing and financial modelling to ensure profitability and risk mitigation
* Manage internal bid governance and approvals
* Lead subcontractor negotiations and ensure appropriate contractual flow-downs
* Support bid responses and ensure alignment with commercial strategy
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven track record in leading commercial aspects of large public sector bids
* Strong understanding of contract law, financial modelling, and pricing strategies
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Ability to manage risk, drive outcomes, and influence senior leadership
* Professional qualifications (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, Legal, WorldCC, ICM, MCIPS) desirable
