PROFESSIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking to appoint someone who:
1. wants experience in the teaching environment or who wants to get back into teaching in the next year
2. likes people, particularly working with young people and is committed to the principle of building good relationships
3. sees the effects of relationships as an essential prerequisite for good teamwork
4. has the ability to motivate both students and staff
5. has an enthusiasm for education and learning
6. is able to maintain the highest possible professional standards, including demeanour, appearance, attendance and punctuality
7. has the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) clearly, concisely and accurately
8. is committed to the aim of providing nothing but the best for the students of Dene Magna
9. has an aptitude for using IT, although training on our systems will be provided as part of the induction programme
10. is flexible and will enjoy the challenge of a dynamic working day
11. is able to gain respect via effective control, people skills and discipline
12. supports students where needed in the role of Teaching Assistant
13. attends meetings and training in line with professional development
The Supply Teacher will:
14. become part of the team at the school
15. become familiar with the policies and practices of the school and be consistent with their actions
16. be recognised by students as adults who work in the school
17. provide continuity for teachers by being available to discuss the work to be supervised before the absence takes place and feedback to the teachers when they return
18. be available for staff/department meetings and ready to go that extra mile
