Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Cambian Dilston College, Corbridge
Hours: 37.5 per week, term time only
Salary: GBP21,073.50 per annum
Are you a Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge or perhaps you would like to begin a career in education?
We are now recruiting for teaching assistants to join our school.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team under the direction of a qualified teacher, assisting pupils to access a broad curriculum based on the National Curriculum. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, and be able to work flexibly in relation to tasks undertaken.
Experience isn't essential; we will provide training and support needed.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team under the direction of a qualified teacher to assist pupils in accessing a broad curriculum based on the National Curriculum.
* Support students in lessons both on and off site.
* Assist the Teacher/Class Lead in the preparation of work for class sessions.
* Support students to make progression with formal learning, self-help skills, life skills and social understanding.
* Work with individuals and groups in line with planned learning programmes.
* Maintain good organisational and communication practices to support learning outcomes.
Person Specification / Qualifications
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Calm under pressure; professional attitude and appearance.
* The ability to lead and be led.
* Experience of working with young people with additional needs (preferred but not required).
* Good organisational skills.
* Ability to assist in preparation of work for class and support students during lessons (on and off site).
* Support students through both group learning and individual programmes.
Pay & Benefits
* Salary of GBP21,073.50 per annum
* 5.6 weeks paid annual leave with 7.4 weeks unpaid (Term Time employees)

About us
Cambian Dilston College consists of our main college building, four cottages, five apartments and a community house in a nearby town of Hexham making up our 9 acre rural campus located in Dilston, Northumberland.
The College caters for young people and adults that have additional learning needs and associated complex behaviours that may challenge. We are looking to increase the provision of 52 week care placements that can be offered to students, and we are recruiting committed, resilient, empathetic and engaging youth support workers to deliver a model of positive behaviour support to empower our young people. This includes helping students gain self-regulation skills and greater lifelong independence.
