We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Watford, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping pupils with additional needs succeed academically and socially. The school has a well-established SEN provision and a nurturing environment. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to provide targeted 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN Assist with academic tasks, social skills, and communication development Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence Support the pupil during lessons, transitions, and playtimes Monitor, record, and report progress to teachers and SENCO Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and support staff Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting Be patient, empathetic, and resilient Have strong communication and teamwork skills Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing The school is located in Watford, with excellent transport links and a supportive team environment.
