Overview
The Chief Operating Financial Officer (COFO) is a senior executive responsible for the full operational integrity of Evermere’s financial architecture across its proprietary fund structures, including Evermere Atlas and associated vehicles.
This role sits at the intersection of fund finance, regulatory compliance, and operational execution. The COFO is accountable for ensuring that all financial systems, controls, and reporting frameworks operate at institutional grade, enabling the firm to deploy and recycle capital at speed while maintaining absolute regulatory and fiduciary discipline.
The mandate extends beyond traditional CFO scope, with a clear emphasis on operational excellence across fund structures, real asset platforms, and complex multi-jurisdictional transactions.
Core Responsibilities
Fund Financial Operations
Oversee end-to-end financial operations across all Evermere funds, SPVs, and platform entities
Ensure accurate NAV reporting, capital account management, and investor-level reporting (where applicable within a proprietary structure)
Maintain institutional-grade financial control over complex asset classes including digital infrastructure, energy, and emerging market platforms
Supervise fund accounting frameworks, including waterfall calculations, carry allocations, and performance reporting (IRR, MOIC, DPI, RVPI)
Audit & Financial Governance
Lead all internal and external audit processes across UK and international structures
Establish and enforce robust financial control frameworks aligned with institutional standards
Manage relationships with external auditors and advisors
Ensure audit readiness across all SPVs and fund entities at any point in time
Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
Own financial compliance with UK regulatory frameworks, including alignment with expectations under FSMA, MiFID II, and AIFM regimes
Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all fund structures and activities remain within regulatory perimeter
Oversee regulatory reporting, filings, and financial disclosures
Maintain readiness for AIFM authorisation and ongoing compliance obligations
Lead global tax strategy across fund structures, SPVs, and cross-border investments
Optimise tax efficiency while maintaining full compliance with UK and international tax regimes
Manage relationships with tax advisors and ensure appropriate structuring for capital deployment and exits
Oversee VAT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing considerations across jurisdictions
Treasury, Banking & Liquidity Management
Oversee all banking relationships, including institutional counterparties and credit providers
Manage liquidity across the firm and fund vehicles, ensuring capital availability aligns with deployment strategy
Control cash management, capital calls, distributions, and treasury optimisation
Ensure robust controls over payment systems, authorisations, and financial security
Operational Infrastructure & Controls
Design and maintain scalable financial infrastructure to support rapid AUM growth and transaction velocity
Implement best-in-class financial systems, reporting tools, and data governance frameworks
Establish and monitor internal controls, risk frameworks, and financial policies
Ensure resilience, redundancy, and auditability across all financial operations
Strategic Partnership to the CEO
Act as a key strategic partner to the CEO on capital deployment, structuring, and execution
Provide financial insight on complex transactions, including JV structures, SPV sales, and structured finance arrangements
Support investment decision-making with robust financial modelling and risk analysis
Enable speed of execution without compromising institutional discipline
Candidate Profile
Experience
10+ years’ experience in fund finance, asset management, or investment banking
Proven experience operating at senior level within hedge funds, private equity, or real asset infrastructure funds
Strong track record managing multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional fund structures
Deep experience with audit, regulatory compliance, and financial governance in the UK
Experience supporting high-growth or high-velocity investment platforms
Technical Expertise
Advanced knowledge of fund accounting, financial reporting, and performance metrics (IRR, MOIC, etc.)
Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including Financial Conduct Authority rules, FSMA, and MiFID II
Expertise in tax structuring across UK, Europe, and international jurisdictions
Deep familiarity with treasury management, banking structures, and liquidity controls
Strong systems orientation, with experience implementing financial platforms and controls
Leadership & Behavioural Attributes
