North Lanarkshire Council is seeking to recruit a Site Supervisor to oversee our Museums & Heritage site team and care for the buildings and grounds. You will be expected to be flexible in your approach to accommodate our varying work demands. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff and volunteers, identifying and reporting repairs, and ensuring health & safety across all museums. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to identify and programme preventative work, support events and exhibitions, support the conservation of large objects, liaise with contractors, and carry out safety checks.
The successful candidate must have good communication skills, be competent in a variety of Microsoft applications with a knowledge health and safety legislation. They must also be capable of carrying out a maintenance programme. You will also participate in and deliver tool box talks and safety updates to staff.
Experience of supervision, maintenance planning is an essential requirement along with a knowledge of basic repairs, grounds maintenance, and painting and decorating.
If successful you will be responsible for providing a safe environment for everyone in museums and will ensure this achieved as efficiently and economically as possible.
The work pattern for this role will be 35 hours per week following a three-week pattern including weekends, and occasional evening working. The successful candidate will be required to participate in our recall to work for alarm call outs. A driving licence is essential.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
