Job Summary
We are looking to recruit Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join our diverse and expanding Talking Therapies Team in Barking & Dagenham. Please only apply if you are a newly qualified or experienced Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner and hold the IAPT certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions. Your application will not be considered without this qualification. We also welcome applicants nearing the end of training, seeking their first qualified role as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. A structured preceptorship programme is offered for newly qualified PWPs to support a smooth transition, confidence, and skills development.
Role & Working Arrangements
* Permanent posts with an expectation that all clinical staff work one late evening per week (12pm until 8pm).
* Blended working pattern: from home and from the office. Future approach to be reviewed based on service needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide evidence-based low intensity interventions through guided self-help (6-8 sessions) and computerised CBT (SilverCloud).
* Develop experience or interest in delivering therapy in a group format; co-facilitate groups with Step 3 clinicians where appropriate.
* Be part of an active outreach team, attending events and running psychoeducational workshops to raise service awareness.
* Participate in Special Interest Groups (SIGs) such as long term conditions (LTCs), perinatal mental health, and LGBTQI+.
* Engage in ongoing CPD and take opportunities for team and external training (e.g., University College London training on PWP supervision and LTCs).
* Contribute to a reflective and supervisory culture through daily on-duty clinicians, weekly case management supervision, monthly clinical skills supervision, and peer-led spaces.
Training & Qualifications
* To hold a university degree enabling psychological mindedness (e.g., psychology, health or social sciences).
* To hold a qualification from a recognised, accredited post-graduate PWP training programme (or be working towards this).
Experience
* Experience of working with mental health service users in an IAPT service (NHS or voluntary sector).
* Experience of working in a service with agreed targets and demonstrated clinical outcomes.
Accreditation
* BABCP Accredited Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (or working towards accreditation through submission of relevant portfolio).

Additional Information
* Probationary period applies to this post.
* High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) of 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,714; maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part time).
