We are seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to join our Manchester Catering unit. This role reports into the Finance Director and is an integral part of the retail customer account management team with a commercial finance specialism.
Role purpose
To be an integral part of the retail customer account management team with a commercial finance specialism. You will be responsible for the FP&A of the Managed Agent team; managing strategic planning (including the budgeting and forecasting process), providing financial insight and business partnering with the customer. This role offers an in-depth understanding of dnata Retail’s total operations, working with internal stakeholders including the Category Buying team, Supply Chain, Operations, 3rd Party Partners and Finance.
What you’ll be doing
* Form a close working relationship with the customer and Managed Agent team.
* Provide detailed understanding and insight on monthly results, identifying opportunities to drive value and highlighting key risks with cashflow to the business.
* Deliver accurate, timely and actionable insight on operational performance, communicating current trends, challenges and opportunities.
* Provide regular ad hoc analysis that identifies key issues, stimulating conversation and driving action.
* Bring a financial perspective to the assessment of business proposals.
* Assist with the development and implementation of systems, processes and applicable data reporting controls.
* Head up the regular finance reviews with the stakeholders of the customer.
* Managing the budgeting and forecasting process.
* Recruiting, training, and developing finance team members, ensuring effective team performance.
* Clearly and concisely communicating financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
* Collaborate with non-finance colleagues to drive performance.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks.
* Ensure that the Managed Agent funding process adheres to a strict control framework and key minimum controls being fully adopted.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Essential
* Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification
* Commercially astute, articulate, dynamic, insightful and influential leader
* Exceptional communication skills at all levels including reporting and presentation skills
* Strong IT skills, with openness to new technologies
* High integrity and commitment to good governance

* Ability to influence Senior Business Stakeholders in the Retail business to challenge performance
Desirable
* Experience with SAP/Power BI
* Experience with retail, logistics and stock
* Prior experience in aviation industry
