Community experience would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be given. The trainee must be able to travel independently across the locality area of work.

Training and Qualifications

As part of the trainee position, you are required to undertake the Specialist Practitioner in District Nursing qualification through Queen Margaret University. The course will lead to a PG Dip and is delivered full-time over 1 year commencing September 2026. You must hold an appropriate academic credit rating of at least a degree and ideally have evidence of recent academic study.

Responsibilities

Benefits

Flexible working and family‑friendly policies. Full support for disabled candidates, candidates with long‑term conditions, or neurodivergent individuals through reasonable adjustments to recruitment policy and practices. A corresponding increase in hourly rate ensures pay remains unaffected as part‑time hours are reduced to align with the new 36‑hour working week.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among its workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. Applications from all sections of society are welcomed.

Legal Requirement

Applicants must demonstrate suitable UK work status; provision of visa, settled or pre‑settled status must be confirmed before application.
