Overview
An exciting opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to train to become a qualified District Charge Nurse within the community. The trainee will support the delivery of high quality care for a wide variety of patients and support the ongoing development of community nursing across Fife in line with local and national drivers. Community experience would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be given. The trainee must be able to travel independently across the locality area of work.
Training and Qualifications
As part of the trainee position, you are required to undertake the Specialist Practitioner in District Nursing qualification through Queen Margaret University. The course will lead to a PG Dip and is delivered full-time over 1 year commencing September 2026. You must hold an appropriate academic credit rating of at least a degree and ideally have evidence of recent academic study.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of high quality care for a wide variety of patients in the community.
* Develop and implement community nursing initiatives in line with local and national priorities.
* Travel independently across the locality area of work.
* Meet learning objectives and complete the Specialist Practitioner in District Nursing qualification.
Requirements
* Appropriate right to work in the United Kingdom.
* Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
* Ability to travel independently within the locality.
* Desire to receive full training and pursue a PG Dip in District Nursing.
