Based at the community-owned Douglas Support Estate, this community engagement ranger role involves the leadership and organisation of our activities and volunteer team to ensure the smooth running and development of the estate. Overseeing conservation interests while balancing development and recreational use will be key, as will providing a positive experience for community users through engagement, educational activities, volunteer work, and site maintenance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist the Board of the Viewpark Conservation Group in conservation, environmental, education, and volunteer activities.
* Support the development of community spaces, play areas, open spaces, and woodlands of the estate.
* Oversee and coordinate volunteers and work experience placements.
* Lead in delivering nature-related supervised environmental and conservation activities.
* Work with community groups to develop projects and partnerships.
* Deliver outdoor engagement activities and organized events.
* Engage local people and organizations to maximize estate use and development.
* Manage estate development, including woodland, vegetation, and habitat management.
* Carry out site maintenance and remedial works.
* Communicate wildlife and habitat updates effectively.
* Enforce relevant regulations and ensure safety and security on-site.
* Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment following health and safety regulations.
* Promote equal opportunities and understand diverse needs.
* Perform any other duties within the scope of the role.

* Chainsaw, brush cutter, and first aid certificates (desirable).
