Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects across the South. This role is ideal for a Junior Project Engineer or Project Engineer seeking progression into a project management position.
The successful candidate will assist in coordinating project activities, managing resources, maintaining compliance, and ensuring client satisfaction while supporting delivery to programme and budget targets.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate and oversee site teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
· Prepare, maintain and update core project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
· Monitor project costs, track expenditure and support financial control processes
· Maintain regular communication with clients and key stakeholders, building strong professional relationships
· Contribute to structured monthly reporting on project performance, risks and progress
· Support environmental protection measures and ensure works minimise environmental impact
· Assist in managing operational and maintenance (O&M) deliverables in line with programme deadlines
· Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and internal procedures
· Utilise project planning tools (such as Microsoft Project) to track timelines and progress
Candidate Requirements
· Experience within Water, Construction, or Industrial sectors
· Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder engagement skills
· Working knowledge of health and safety regulations within a project environment
· Experience using project planning software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
· Willingness to work towards the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)
· Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel to client sites as required
· Relevant trade or technical qualification
· Previous experience within the Water industry
