Responsibilities: We provide leadership, technical assurance, and strategic direction across our infrastructure and network services. We act as the final escalation point for complex technical decisions. We review, challenge, and approve infrastructure, network, and platform designs. We ensure our solutions are secure, supportable, and aligned with our standards. We serve as the senior technical escalation point for high-impact or complex issues. We ensure our documentation, architecture, and change records meet quality and compliance expectations. We offer strategic direction across infrastructure and network domains, maintaining oversight of performance, risk, and lifecycle health. We lead and mentor network and infrastructure engineers, promoting strong engineering principles and technical quality. We support prioritisation of workloads, project demands, and operational improvements. We contribute to long-term technology roadmaps. We identify risks, constraints, and future opportunities to improve resilience, scalability, or efficiency. We track emerging technologies and recommend adoption where there is clear value. We lead technical elements of change management, ensuring risks are properly assessed and mitigated. We provide expert input to CAB and drive continuous improvement in governance processes. We capture technical lessons learned and embed them into our engineering practice. We lead root-cause analysis and coordinate long-term remediation for recurring incidents. We work with engineering teams to reduce technical debt and increase platform stability. We drive proactive risk reduction across our infrastructure and networks. We act as the technical authority in discussions with customers and partners. We review supplier designs, documentation, and proposals to ensure alignment with our standards and requirements. We represent our organisation with confidence in technical governance forums. We mentor and develop engineers to improve capability and consistency across our team. We identify skills gaps and shape technical training plans. We promote high-quality engineering practices, secure-by-design thinking, and strong documentation habits.
