Overview
We are looking for a full-time Qualified Early Years Educator to join our Hove Village at Hove Library team as the Third in Charge.
Responsibilities
* To support the Nursery Management in providing high quality care and learning experiences
* To support the Nursery Management in all aspects of the day-to-day business and administrative practices, e.g., maintaining records on the children and their families, keeping accurate and up-to-date personnel records, ordering equipment, maintaining inventory
* Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5
* Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
* Support the team to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop
* Continually research and reflect on practices to ensure outstanding practice
* Ensure all correct policies, procedures and practices are adhered to
* Understand safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures for the setting and local authority
* Deliver staff personal development reviews and supervision when required
* Support the selection and recruitment of a balanced staff team using safe recruitment policies
* Observe and assess children's development, identifying any areas of concern
* Collaborate with parents and other staff to support children's individual needs
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development
* Ensure the nursery is clean, organized, and well-maintained
* Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of all children
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or other full and relevant Early Years qualification)
* At least 2 years’ post-qualifying experience, including elements of staff development, management and operations in an early years setting
* Working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and its implementation, and Ofsted requirements
* Working knowledge of relevant child safety, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures
* Excellent communication skills with internal and external audiences
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
