Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEMH Focus)
Leader Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic alternative provision setting in Durham. This long-term, full-time role involves working with students aged 6-16 who are at risk of permanent exclusion due to behavioral challenges. The goal is to support their education and personal development, facilitating their reintegration into mainstream education.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Responsibilities:
* Lead activities with individuals or small groups to facilitate educational development.
* Provide a stimulating and structured learning environment suitable for pupils with SEMH.
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to support students effectively.
* Support students in overcoming obstacles to success and reintegration into mainstream education.
Candidate Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
* Experience working with SEMH individuals or in transferable roles.
* Flexibility, resilience, and effective communication skills tailored to students of varying abilities.
