About The Role
Reporting to the Head of UX, Design & CRO, you will play a key role in shaping the visual identity of our digital campaigns, events, and sponsorship initiatives within the Aberdeen Investments business.
Your primary focus will be on digital design, working with our UX and UI Design leads to enhance the visual design of our websites and deliver exceptional digital client experiences.
As the brand and design standards guardian, you’ll also work with our Sponsorship and Events colleagues to create offline marketing materials that deliver a cohesive and compelling Aberdeen Investments brand experience.
This role is ideal for a creative professional with experience of user interface design, graphic design and brand strategy, who is passionate about delivering impactful, user-centred design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Evolve the visual identity of the Investments brand, ensuring alignment with our global brand, and our Investments business’ vision, mission, and values.
* Shape and maintain Investments brand guidelines to ensure a cohesive and consistent visual identity is applied across all (online and offline) client touchpoints.
* Act as a brand guardian, ensuring accurate and respectful representation of the brand, while collaborating with third-party creative agencies to ensure brand consistency and high-quality output.
* Partner with the UI Design Lead to maintain and evolve our Digital Design System.
* Champion a user-centred design approach, effectively addressing stakeholder concerns and balancing business needs with user expectations.
* Use data and insights to design user-centred, accessible digital client experiences, including campaign pages, user journeys and UI components.
* Create engaging and visually consistent multi-channel content, including emails, print materials, social media graphics, and large-format assets.
* Consider accessibility principles throughout the UI design process to support inclusive and user-friendly experiences.
* Contribute proactively to creative brainstorming sessions and project kick-offs, translating briefs into compelling design solutions, incorporating feedback and refining designs as needed along the way.
About The Candidate
* Versatile in designing for both digital and print across a range of projects, including branding, campaigns, social media, presentations, and events.
* Experience of evolving the visual identity and branding of an organisation across digital and print content.
* Strong eye for detail and deep understanding of design best practice and fundamentals, including content structure and design, colour theory, and typography.
* Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering high-quality, well-crafted creative work.
* Experienced in creating interactive content and applying motion and animation to enhance UI design.
* Capable of bringing design concepts to life through wireframing and interactive prototyping, using established design systems.
* Understanding of the role and application of a digital design system in delivering a consistent digital experience.
* Familiarity with current digital accessibility standards and a desire to design inclusive experiences across all channels/touchpoints.
* Solid understanding of UX principles and the Design Thinking process.
* Able to leverage data and user insights to inform design decisions and support key business objectives.
* Experienced in managing complex stakeholder relationships, with strong communication, persuasion, and influencing skills to deliver user-focused solutions that meet business needs.
* Good understanding of Figma
* Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
* Zeroheight or an equivalent design system
