Job Description
The Department of Computer Science at Norfolk State University is seeking applications for a 9-month tenure-track Computer Science position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will remain open until it is filled. This position opened on and there is a five consecutive workdays minimum posting requirement.

Responsibilities
Duties include teaching graduate, and undergraduate courses, advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; developing curricula; serving on departmental, school, and university committees; performing appropriate scholarly and service activities; obtaining external funding and conducting research in computer science, cybersecurity or artificial intelligence.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Ph.D. (or equivalent) in computer science, or a closely related field.
2. Skillset and background to teach a wide range of computer science
courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
3. Proficient in spoken and written English, adequate for classroom instruction and
academic communication.
4. Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. (This includes
U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with an EAD)

Additional Considerations

5. Postdoctoral or industry experience
6. Experience teaching non-traditional or first-generation students
7. Experience with course design or curriculum revision
8. Record of service and/or student advising
9. Evidence of scholarly potential.
