We are a well-established and friendly opticians practice in South Belfast seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Optical Assistant to join our team. Our modern, well-equipped practice offers a welcoming and professional environment for both our patients and our team.
Standard days would be Wednesday to Friday full days and 4 hours on a saturday
Duties
* Manage and book the appointments diary to a high standard.
* Greet and assist customers in selecting eyewear that meets their needs and preferences.
* Maintain and organise the optical laboratory, ensuring all equipment is clean and operational.
* Assist in the fitting and adjustment of spectacles to ensure proper alignment and comfort for customers.
* Manage inventory levels of frames, lenses, and other optical supplies, placing orders as necessary.
* Provide information on lens options, coatings, and other enhancements to educate customers on their choices.
Skills
* Provide excellent customer service, with the ability to provide personalised assistance to customer and address their needs and concerns.
* Great communication and rapport building to translate professional terminology into language understandable to patients.
* Exceptional attention to detail in maintaining accurate customer records, prescriptions, and requirements to provide them with the best service and product recommendations
* Confidence, passion, drive and enthusiasm.
* Knowledge and understanding of our optical products and services, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses, and the ability to inform customers about them and promote our products and services.
* Arrange and maintain the practices look and feel, keeping it organised and stocked, to provide a visually appealing environment for our customers.
Ideal characteristics
* Proven experience in a customer service role is essential.
* Previous experience as an Optical Assistant is preferred but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
* A passion for providing outstanding patient care.
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
