MATERNITY COVER - SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED - MELLOR, STOCKPORT

Brook Street Social Care is seeking a reliable, dynamic, and caring Support Worker to cover maternity period of up to 10 months to provide one-to-one support to a vibrant and fun-loving young adult with complex needs, based in the Mellor area of Stockport.
This is a unique opportunity to become a part of a small, dedicated care team making a genuine impact in someone's life - both at home and out in the community.
ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL
You'll be supporting a young person who lives life to the fullest! Their hobbies include:
1. Drumming & rock music
2. Trips to the cinema & love for the Marvel Universe
3. Video gaming sessions
4. Skiing, football, and attending football matches
Each day is different, and your support will help them experience it all with confidence and independence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
5. Supporting personal care and manual handling
6. Driving the client's adapted vehicle (clean UK licence essential)
7. Facilitating college work and therapy sessions
8. Assisting with community activities and outings
9. Following client-specific training and support plans
SHIFT DETAILS
You'll be required to work 3-4 shifts per week, on a rotating basis.
Current shift pattern:
10. Mon - Wed: 7am - 5pm
11. Thu - Sat: 10am - 8pm
PAY & CONTRACT
12. Weekday Rate: £14.69/hr
13. Weekend Rate: £15.91/hr
14. Minimum 30 hours/week (with extra hours available)
15. Annual Salary: £22,916.40+ (based on minimum contracted hours)
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
16. Flexibility and availability across shift patterns
17. Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
18. Full clean UK driving licence and confidence driving along rural roads
19. Physically able to deliver personal care and manual handling
20. Strong verbal and written communication skills
21. Ability to build positive rapport and support therapeutic engagement
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
22. Background in personal care and social care
23. Health & Social Care qualifications (or working towards them)
