Job Title: Maintenance Technicians
Pay rate: 25 Umbrella per hour
Job Location: Cambridge
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30 Days or Monday to Thursday 18:00 - 04:30 Nights
Duration: 6 months ongoing.
Start Dates: ASAP

Position Summary
Based at Cambridge depot, with travel to and from our customers' depots in Ely to provide exams and technical support. Travel times are included in the roster. Responsible for exam work, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions on customer units under the direction of the Team Leader. Ensuring unit availability for wheel turning runs, carrying out rectifications, and following depot safety plans and instructions. Setting up safe work systems offsite, supporting other workstreams, deputising for the Team Leader when needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out work assigned by the Team Leader within set timescales and standards.
2. Adhere to safety procedures and document compliance with VMI and local instructions.
3. Complete work sheets and electronic records promptly and accurately.
4. Follow Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions.
5. Attend technical, safety, and quality briefings and act on raised items.
6. Undertake Safety Critical Work Regulations assessments and remedial actions as guided.
7. Perform duties within competence levels as requested.
8. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness at depots.
9. Use PPE according to standards and instructions.
10. Assist in meeting rolling stock availability and reliability targets.
11. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum of or equivalent to:
* BTEC certificate in Engineering
* City and Guilds certificate in Engineering
* NVQ Level 3 certificate in Engineering
Traction and rolling stock qualification preferred.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in vehicle heavy maintenance activities.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.
* Basic IT skills.
