The Emmbrook School is seeking a compassionate, adaptable and dedicated individual to join our SEND department, working specifically within our Intervention Centre. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), supporting both their academic progress and emotional development.
As part of the SEND team you will work directly with students and staff to understand planning and delivering academic intervention in Literacy and Numeracy to students in KS3 and KS4 to support their progress and learning. The role will also include the facilitation of Emotional Literacy programmes that promote self-awareness, regulation, resilience and positive mental health. These interventions will be delivered in a tailored approach to meet individual learning needs for example small group work or one-to-one. You will need to work closely with the SEND and teaching teams to ensure consistent and effective support, monitoring and reporting on student progress to maximise outcomes.
We are looking for someone with experience in delivering academic and emotional interventions alongside having a calm, empathetic approach and the ability to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary. The individual will need to be adaptive in their delivery to maximise engagement and outcomes.
If you are passionate about inclusion and want to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking school community, we would love to hear from you.
We offer:
* A culture and ethos where staff work collaboratively, feel valued and are well supported.
* A thoughtful and impactful approach to continuing professional development.
* A strong commitment to the wellbeing of all staff.
* A school where our pupils “are focused on their learning” and “take pride in rising to the school’s high behaviour expectations” (Ofsted, 2023).
* A strong track record of rising outcomes at KS4 and in the Sixth Form.
* Being part of The Circle Trust, giving you access to a network of experienced educational leaders and mentors.
As Intervention Support Worker you should demonstrate:
* Be utterly ambitious for every student that you work with.
* Have a passion for supporting and championing the students that you work with making a difference to their educational experience.
* Work collaboratively with department and school colleagues.
* Share our FAIR values (family, ambition, integrity and respect).
