Cardiac Sciences at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to come and join our growing service.
This is a combined role comprising of Matron for Cardiac Specialist Services and Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
This dual-focus role provides visible leadership for our Specialist Cardiac Nursing teams and our growing number of Advanced Nurse Practitioners across our acute Cardiology and Cardiothoracic settings whilst maintaining your own autonomous, expert clinical practice.
This is a fixed term position for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will be required to work full time, (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday and may need to support the Advanced Practitioner Service by working clinically within the ward settings during staff absence/sickness or unplanned leave.
Main duties of the job
1. To oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
2. To explore current practice, identifying areas for development, and planning the appropriate change using research and experience to evaluate the outcomes.
3. To lead in innovation, change, service development on Ward C8 and within the Arrhythmia and Inherited Cardiac Conditions CNS Teams.
4. To be responsible for the quality of the patient’s environment to improve the patient’s experience.
5. Ensure patients are assessed, have care plans that are implemented and evaluated in accordance with Trust’s evidence based procedural documents.

Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
6. Management certificate or equivalent experience.
7. Advanced or Intermediate Life Support provider
8. Evidence of Independent prescribing qualification
9. Master’s Degree of in Advanced Practice (or working towards)
10. Registered Nurse

11. Health Related diploma /degree, master’s or equivalent level of knowledge in the specialism
