Amazon's WHS Central Programs team (IN) is seeking a skilled and motivated Program Manager to assist in the tactical management and execution of the WHS programs worldwide. This provides an opportunity to join a team that is continuously evolving and growing. The team works on WW WHS programs to drive injury prevention, risk management, OSHA Compliance. The Program Manager, WHS will build processes and work with the program team across geographies and marketplaces. We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about managing projects, developing scalable solutions, driving process improvement, and can work with multiple teams.

The leader will be responsible for partnering with the WW WHS team, operations team, and tech partners for the execution of the program. By leveraging lean mechanisms and Kaizens, this individual will build processes to drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure risk management that impact site operations and create a safe, healthy, and engaging working environment for our Associates. The person needs to work with senior leaders to create and achieve the WHS vision in alignment with Amazon’s global standards, policies, and procedures.

The program manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise, and consistent written and verbal messages. The person will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these into our standards to continuously improve processes. The person must possess excellent program management skills, a relevant operational & safety background, and knowledge of safety and EHS regulatory standards. The individual must have the ability to work with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership globally.

We are willing to consider candidates for on-site positions in Bengaluru, India.


Key job responsibilities

1. Possess a thorough understanding of WHS global/federal regulations and data analytics.
2. Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to develop technical insight reports.
3. Propose solutions for WHS programs and process simplification.
4. Audit recordkeeping practices and entries to ensure compliance with global WHS standards and regulations.
5. Partner with cross-functional leaders to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities, and drive delivery. Assist the internal WHS team in identifying areas for improvement.
6. Organize and collect data, write PR/FAQs, and develop strategic program documentation (e.g., Whitepapers, WBR, MBR).
7. Oversee program roll-out, including testing and launch efforts.
8. Manage post-launch support plans, including post-mortems and issue management.
9. Drive innovation and process improvements for existing projects, seeking opportunities to enhance system quality and operational excellence.

* Define performance reporting processes to monitor WHS metrics and project quality.
* Develop SOPs and process maps to minimize injuries by analyzing injury themes and patterns.
* Deliver scalable solutions to meet evolving stakeholder requirements and WHS regulations.
* Provide high-level insights through complex data analysis for leadership reviews.
* Create whitepapers to propose injury reduction initiatives and collaborate with teams for deployment.


Influence

* Communicate effectively to align team and stakeholder requirements.
* Build trust through recommendations and process improvements.
* Lead and influence independently to ensure timely delivery.
* Respond to escalations and provide strategic insights for decision-making.


Impact

* Drive process improvements by identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
* Contribute to WHS Central Programs team goals and metrics.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of program or project management experience.
* 3+ years of cross-functional experience with tech and non-tech teams.
* 3+ years of implementing process improvements using data and metrics.
* Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or equivalent.
* Proficiency with digital tools for project management, document control, and data visualization (e.g., MS Excel, SharePoint, Quicksight).
* Strong communication skills.
* Experience defining program requirements and using data to drive improvements.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's degree in analytics or related field.
* Lean Principles, Six Sigma Certification.
