Waking Night Residential Support Worker
As a Waking Night Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role supporting vulnerable children throughout the night. Working across a small cluster of homes, you’ll help create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel secure, reassured, and cared for during overnight hours.

Your Night-to-Night
You’ll provide steady, compassionate care throughout the night—checking in on children, offering reassurance if they wake, and responding to any overnight needs. You’ll also complete light household tasks, maintain accurate records, and support the morning routine before handing over to the day team.
You’ll usually work as the sole waking night staff member, with sleep-in colleagues on site and access to a supportive, trauma-informed management structure.
What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children or young people (care, education, or similar settings)

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
*
Calm, reliable, and emotionally resilient approach
*
Confident working alone and during night shifts
*
Full UK driving licence and access to transport
