The role
As an Aerospace Design Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be creating innovative mechanical parts, assemblies, and installation designs using SolidWorks, ensuring full compliance with our Design Office Handbook, certification standards, and customer requirements.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support to production and installation engineers on design-related matters.
2. Conduct aircraft surveys to identify and define optimal design solutions.
3. Perform and document analysis and testing to validate designs and ensure quality.
This role is full time working 40 hours per week and is based on site at Gloucestershire Airport, Gloucestershire.
Essential experience of the Aerospace Design Engineer:
4. Proven experience in aviation design environments, with a strong understanding of industry standards.
5. Expertise in mechanical and/or electrical design, including detailed drawings and comprehensive engineering reports.
6. Solid knowledge of aerospace regulations or experience within other highly regulated sectors (e.g., rail, nuclear).
7. Proficient in CAD tools (training on our specific systems will be provided).
8. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Qualifications for the Aerospace Design Engineer:
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience in place of a degree.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
