The role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function at Beams by ensuring accurate and timely management reporting, analysing financial performance, and driving process improvements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including design, planning, product and operations to support decision-making and ensure financial insights are embedded across the business.
Your responsibilities
Produce monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Perform variance analysis against budget and forecast and provide insightful commentary
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes across departments
Maintain and improve internal financial controls and reporting processes
Assist with month-end procedures, including accruals, prepayments and journal postings
Prepare and maintain financial dashboards and KPI reporting
Collaborate with operational teams to provide cost analysis and improve profitability
Support with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
Assist in preparation for year-end accounts and liaison with external accountants or auditors
Take ownership of specific finance projects or continuous improvement initiatives
About you:
Essential:
Part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT) with relevant experience in a management accounting or similar role
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Excellent analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills
Familiarity with accounting software – experience with Xero is a plus
Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment
An interest in sustainability and contributing to a greener built environment
Desirable:
Previous experience in construction, technology, or consumer-focused industries
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred but not essential
