 
        
        CNC Mechanical Fitter– Workshop-Based Role (NIGHT SHIFT)
Location: Acton Works | Pay Rate: £49.14 per hour | Start: ASAP
We are working with a leading engineering organisation on behalf of a highly skilled workshop team, who are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter / CNC operative to join their rolling stock upgrade projects. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Assemble components and systems following detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
 * Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, ruler) accurately
 * Apply torque using torque wrenches and follow witness marking procedures
 * Operate and maintain machinery and workshop equipment, including overhead cranes (desirable)
 * Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing workshop team
Essential Requirements:
 * Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical qualification (or equivalent)
 * Proven ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
 * Experience using torque wrenches and measuring tools
Desirable Skills / Experience:
 * Rail or heavy engineering experience
 * CNC experience, with programming knowledge considered a plus
 * Component assembly and system maintenance
 * Experience with overhead cranes and workshop equipment
