Prospero Teaching is looking for committed and empathetic Tutors to work with young learners in Chichester and surrounding areas.
We support students who benefit from alternative education pathways and excel in one-to-one learning environments. If you’re passionate about making a difference and helping young people thrive outside of traditional classroom settings, we’d love to hear from you.
Our learners range from EYFS to post-16, and we welcome applications from professionals with experience in:
 1. Nurseries
 2. Primary and Secondary Schools
 3. Colleges
 4. Specialist Education Settings
Many of our young people have complex additional needs, including:
 5. SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
 6. SEN (Special Educational Needs)
 7. EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
 8. Anxiety
 9. Risk of Permanent Exclusion (PEX)
Each child referred to us typically requires between 2 to 15 hours of support per week, allowing us to offer both part-time and full-time opportunities based on current referrals.

As a Tutor, you will:
 10. Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet the student’s individual needs and interests
 11. Support the young person in developing emotional regulation strategies
 12. Foster a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment
 13. Gradually build a strong rapport and encourage participation at the student’s own pace
 14. Work closely with parents/carers and other professionals as needed
About you:
 15. Have at least 1 year of experience working within UK schools
 16. Are confident in planning and delivering creative, learner-centred sessions
 17. Employs a nurturing, adaptable, and student-centred approach

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
 18. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people Trauma informed- desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
 19. Hold right to work in the UK
 20. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
 21. Provide references upon request
 22. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
