Our client, a respected and long-established building engineering services provider, is expanding their commercial gas team and seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join them. The Role
Working across a variety of sites—including schools, commercial offices, residential buildings and other facilities—you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of commercial boilers and associated plant.
You will also support installation projects, including testing, commissioning, and completing all required documentation to regulatory standards. Engineers will provide technical guidance to clients on-site and participate in an on-call rota approximately one week in ten.
You’ll be joining an experienced, supportive engineering team that prides itself on delivering excellent customer service and high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance, annual servicing and responsive repairs
Diagnose faults and ensure systems meet current legislation and safety standards
Perform testing and inspections, ensuring accurate digital records are completed
Install new commercial gas equipment and commission systems to the required specification
Repair or replace defective equipment, identifying and ordering required parts
Maintain regular communication with the Operations Manager and office team
Provide excellent customer service and act as a knowledgeable point of contact onsite
Maintain accurate documentation, including measurements, calculations, and job reports
Participate in the on-call rota (approx. 1 week in 10)
Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer
ACS Commercial Gas qualifications (CODNCO1, COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CORT1, CDGA1) – Essential
Domestic ACS qualifications – Advantageous
Relevant Level 2/3 Gas Engineering qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds)
Strong understanding of current gas regulations
Good IT skills (PDA / digital compliance systems)
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
Able to work independently with a proactive attitude
Clean UK driving licence
Clean DBS
