SEN Secondary Teacher (QTS) – Bury, Greater Manchester
We are seeking a committed SEN Secondary Teacher (QTS) to work within a specialist SEN school or alternative provision in Bury. This role suits a qualified secondary teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
You will deliver personalised, structured learning to support academic progress, emotional regulation and independence.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with the secondary curriculum and individual SEN needs.
* Adapt subject content for pupils with autism, SEMH, ADHD, communication and sensory needs.
* Create a calm, consistent classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and engagement.
* Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
* Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, teaching assistants and pastoral staff.
* Use inclusive strategies such as visuals, routines and differentiated resources.
* Monitor progress through assessments, observations and accurate record-keeping.
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience teaching at secondary level (mainstream or SEN).
* Strong understanding of SEN, behaviour support and safeguarding.
* Calm, patient and adaptable teaching style.
* Full availability Monday–Friday during school hours.

Preferred (Not Essential)
* Experience with SEMH, ASD or complex needs.
* Experience in SEN schools, PRUs or alternative provision.
* Ability to deliver functional skills or life-skills learning.

Vetting & Compliance
* Two years of employment references.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (support available).
* Overseas Police checks if applicable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
