The children, staff, and governors of Chester-le-Street Church of England Primary School are seeking a caring, reliable, and proactive Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, safety, and positive behaviour of our pupils during the midday break.
As a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant, you will work during the school’s lunch period to supervise pupils in the dining hall and outdoor areas, ensuring they have a safe, happy, and inclusive lunchtime experience. You will attend to pupils’ welfare needs, encourage good manners and healthy eating, and promote positive play. The role also involves supporting and implementing positive, proactive, and consistent behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policy.
The successful candidate will be approachable, patient, and able to build positive relationships with children and staff. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and uphold the school’s Christian values. Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is keen to make a positive contribution to a supportive and welcoming school community.
