Are you passionate about empowering young people to achieve their full potential? Do you want to play a meaningful role in shaping lives while supporting inclusive education? At Cambridge Regional College, we’re looking for a dedicated Learning Support Mentor to join our friendly and professional Sports and Uniformed Services team. This is your opportunity to provide hands-on support that helps learners thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. What You'll Be Doing: As a Learning Support Mentor, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to support the learning, development, and independence of our students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You’ll be at the heart of their journey, helping them overcome barriers and unlock their potential. Your role will involve: Supporting young people to achieve their individual learning goals, including targets outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Adapting class resources to suit individual needs—this could include enlarging text, modifying instructions, or other creative solutions. Working one-to-one with students to review and adapt their support needs, ensuring the help they receive is always relevant and effective. Taking part in ongoing training and professional development, supported by the Learning Support Manager. What We’re Looking For: We need someone who is: Empathetic, adaptable, and ready to use their initiative when supporting learners in real-time. A strong communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships with students and staff. Flexible and open-minded in approach—every day is different, and that’s part of what makes this role so rewarding. Qualifications needed: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above. Ideally, some experience working with people with SEND, though this is not essential if you're a fast learner with the right attitude. Why Join CRC? You’ll become part of a committed and caring team where no two days are the same—and where your impact is immediate and long-lasting. Whether you're helping a student find their voice or celebrating a big academic breakthrough, your support will matter. Please note that this role will be a late August start for the next academic year. Safeguarding Statement: Cambridge Regional College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore, we expect all workers and employees to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Please be aware this advert will remain open until the vacancy has been filled rather than the advertised closing date. Interviews will take place throughout this period; therefore, we encourage you to apply early to avoid disappointment.
