Pathway Coordinator/Medical Secretary

This post will be cross site working at Samuel Johnson and Sir Robert Peel Community Hospitals. We have a full‑time position available (37.5 hours per week) and two part‑time positions available (30 hours & 22.5 hours per week). The role provides administration support to the secretarial teams and wider colleagues. Main duties include answering telephone calls from patients, supporting patients with queries and escalating clinical questions as required, supporting with administration tasks and editing and ensuring letters are sent out in a timely manner.
Main duties
* Editing and dispatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS medical patients within agreed timescales and quality standard.
* Act as a point of contact for patients and medical staff ensuring queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of Word, Excel, T-Pro, Lorenzo, Cito and e‑mail systems would be desirable.
* Work to strict Trust and Government policies.
Qualifications and experience
* Good standard of English to O level/GCSE (A–C grade) or equivalent.
* Experience working in an administrative/patient care environment.
* Experience in an NHS Administration Role.
* Understanding of 18 RTT process and NHS cancer targets.
* Advanced level of IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to work to deadlines.
* Knowledge of NHS IT Systems such as T‑Pro, Meditech, CRIS.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
