Maintenance Manager | West Bromwich £65,000 - Days only
As the Maintenance Manager, you are the person people turn to because you have credibility established because you’ve done the job yourself. You will need to demonstrate this credibility to managers, your team and the challenging Regulatory Bodies that govern the site activities (Health and Safey Executive and Environment Agency).
You didn’t step into the title on day one. You learnt it. You spent time on site… working things out… understanding how a plant really runs and earning the respect that comes with that.
As Maintenance Manager here, you will join a stable, well established industrial site where experience is valued and calm leadership matters.
The maintenance manager opening exists because the current person is retiring. The business needs a Maintenance Manager who will take ownership and responsibility for the entire mechanical maintenance function and make it their own.
As Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for the full mechanical maintenance function, 21 people across mechanical maintenance, civil works, stores and a small project focused team.
Reporting into the Head of Engineering, you will be involved in planning and co-ordinating activity but you will also be visible on site, supporting your team, leading by example and helping solve problems when they arise.
The site runs established maintenance systems, including Siemens based controls, within a lower tier COMAH environment. The approach is practical and realistic. Solid industrial experience matters most.
This Maintenance Manager role suits you if:
• You came up through engineering, ideally apprentice trained and qualified to at least HNC level.
• You have led maintenance teams and earned their trust
• You like being present on site
• You are looking for stability and somewhere to settle
What you get as Maintenance Manager:
• £65,000 salary
• Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm
• A stable business with consistent workload
• A capable, established team
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Paid sick scheme, life assurance and pension
This is a long term Maintenance Manager opportunity.
The structure is fairly flat, with scope over time to move into projects or operations if that’s where your interests take you.
Right now, the focus is on finding a Maintenance Manager who wants to belong somewhere again, be part of a well oiled machine.
The interview process is human and straightforward. An initial online conversation, followed by a site visit.
If you are a Maintenance Manager who has worked their way up and wants a role that recognises that journey, this one is worth a conversation.
