As a key point of contact for the client, designer, and stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and fostering a culture of continual improvement. Role Purpose: Act as the primary liaison for environmental issues, providing support and advice to operational teams. Develop environmental documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, contract requirements, and client expectations. Identify environmental opportunities and risks, and implement robust mitigation measures. Lead a team of Environmental & Sustainability professionals, promoting learning and development. Key Responsibilities: Understand and advise on legal and client requirements related to environmental sustainability. Produce environmental documentation such as Construction Environmental Management Plans and aspects/impacts registers. Develop mitigation measures for various environmental risks, including ecology, pollution control, water environment, noise and vibration, air quality, climate change, resource efficiency, and waste management. Provide leadership to the Environmental team, facilitating learning and supporting overall environmental performance. Implement and report on monitoring and audit programs. Collaborate with clients, designers, and third parties to share best practices and promote a positive environmental culture. Liaise with regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and stakeholders on environmental management matters. Role Profile: Provide on-site advice on environmental management and compliance. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure implementation of environmental management systems. Investigate environmental incidents and recommend controls to prevent recurrence. Stay updated on changes to standards and legislation, recommending adjustments to systems and processes. Deliver environmental training and produce internal and external reports as required. Support assurance activities, including external audits. Assist in the development of key performance indicators and management reports. Ensure compliance with licenses, permits, and consents. Personal Qualities and Experience: Membership of an environmental professional body. Sound understanding of environmental legislation and impact mitigation. Experience managing environmental risks and collaborating for project success. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong planning and organization abilities. Commercial awareness and proficiency in MS Office. Full UK driver’s license. Experience working under marine licenses or other permits/consents is desirable.
