As we continue our growth journey and integration into a global organisation, we are looking for an experienced and driven Operations and Logistics Manager to join our UK team based in Theale. Role Overview This is a high-impact role responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, global logistics, and leading our demand planning strategy to support the efficient global movement of our cold chain containers. The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach to managing a dynamic team, working closely with global commercial and operational stakeholders to ensure just-in-time inventory positioning and cost-effective delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day operational despatch activities through a team of warehouse specialists and a Warehouse Manager Own and implement the global demand planning strategy, ensuring containers are optimally positioned to meet customer needs across our global hubs Manage all logistics operations, including freight procurement, contract negotiation, and relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and airlines Optimise logistics spend (approx. £2.5m annually), identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency Collaborate with global commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasts drive inventory and shipping decisions Ensure just-in-time rather than just-in-case container movement Support integration efforts with Cold Chain Technologies and contribute to the global standardisation of operations Lead, mentor and develop direct reports, creating a positive, high-performance culture Monitor and report on KPIs including OTIF (on time in full), cost per shipment, inventory turns, and container utilisation Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence Maintain strong compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements Person Specification Essential: Proven experience in operations and logistics management, ideally in a global supply chain environment Strong understanding and hands-on experience in demand planning and freight procurement Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills and cost control focus Experience managing warehouse teams and third-party logistics partners Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and data-driven decision making Willingness to travel internationally as required Strong leadership skills, able to inspire and develop a small team Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems Six Sigma Desirable: Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cold chain industries Exposure to global hub-based logistics and reusable asset management
