Overview
The Medical Officer will join a multi‑disciplinary area team based in Edinburgh (Haymarket) with hybrid working options. The post is a full‑time, 35‑hour week role with a competitive annual salary of £75,147 – £83,499.
Responsibilities
* Provide psychiatric medical care as part of a multidisciplinary team and report to a Senior Manager.
* Be professionally accountable to the Executive Director (Medical) for the practitioner’s specialty.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues in health, social care and voluntary sectors and influence high‑level decision‑makers.
Qualifications
* Fully registered medical practitioner holding MRCPsych, equivalent, or eligible for accreditation as an AMP.
* Experience delivering psychiatric care and working across a range of psychiatric sub‑specialties.
* Excellent IT, written and verbal communication skills.
* Comprehensive understanding of the Scottish mental health and learning disability agenda, mental health and incapacity legislation, and experience working with Mental Health Officers.
