Project Manager – MOD Contractor
Location: Plymouth
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Car Allowance / Company Car
About the Role
Join a leading MOD contractor delivering high-profile defence and infrastructure projects across Devon. This is an excellent opportunity to manage projects for a trusted national contractor with a strong reputation for excellence within the defence sector.
You will take full responsibility for project delivery — from inception through to completion — ensuring programmes are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and oversee projects from inception to completion
2. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring all targets are met
3. Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to maintain smooth operations
4. Ensure compliance with MOD security protocols, health & safety regulations, and industry standards
5. Identify and mitigate risks to keep projects on track and within budget
6. Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies within project management processes
Key Requirements
7. HNC or equivalent qualification in Building, Civil Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
8. Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Project Manager role
9. Experience managing construction and property maintenance programmes (MOD experience advantageous)
10. Health & Safety qualification such as SMSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH, plus Asbestos Awareness
11. Strong supply chain management skills and good local industry knowledge
12. Security clearance (or eligibility to obtain clearance) due to the nature of MOD projects
13. Full UK Driving Licence
14. Strong IT skills, including MS Office (experience with CAFM software desirable)
