Overview
The Pharmacy Technical Services Department has a vacancy for a Band 3 Transport Driver/Stores Assistant to work within our unit. You will assist in the delivery of medicines (hazardous and non-hazardous) and a variety of pharmaceutical products, documents and other materials around the Royal Cornwall Hospital site and occasionally off site. A full, valid manual driving license is essential. The role also involves supporting stock control and the opportunity to assist in preparing injectable medicines of both hazardous and non-hazardous nature.
Responsibilities
* Under the direction of the Senior Stores Lead/Driver, support the delivery of medicines including hazardous products such as cancer chemotherapy agents or radioactive materials and less hazardous products such as nutrition and aseptic medicines. Ensure medicines are transported safely, securely and in a timely fashion in line with transport regulations.
* Assist in receipting goods and materials delivered to Technical Services and support stock control and document management in compliance with departmental and national standards.
* Ensure delivered goods are stored in authorised locations and rotated appropriately.
* Maintain vehicle cleanliness and oversee maintenance activities.
* Assist in monitoring and maintaining storage areas and cleanliness.
* Meet tight deadlines for medicine deliveries by prioritising workflows in liaison with senior colleagues.
* Become a validated dispenser for the manufacture of sterile injectable medicines, including hazardous products, and support associated cleaning and environmental monitoring duties.
