About the Role: As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide targeted support for students with SEMH needs. You will help create a safe and engaging learning environment, supporting both academic progress and emotional regulation. This role requires patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to behaviour management. Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting engagement and positive participation in lessons. • Assist in implementing personalised learning and behaviour support plans tailored to individual student requirements. • Support the development of students’ emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence. • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment. • Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and achievements in line with school policies. • Promote safeguarding, well-being, and inclusion at all times. Qualifications: • Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs in a school or similar setting is desirable. • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations. • A genuine commitment to supporting the well-being and development of young people.
