A small, but established company specialising in researching and advising on Japanese equities, regulated by the FCA, is looking to expand its business and is seeking a trainee in Chief Exec Support & Salesperson. You will work with and be trained every step of the way by shadowing and supporting the director within a team‑oriented and rewarding professional environment. No previous equity research analysis experience is necessary. A native level of English with strong communication skills is required; excellent Japanese speaking skills will be advantageous. You will be exposed to a high‑level business environment with responsibility from the early stage. This is an excellent chance to put your Japanese to effective use daily, gain new skills and receive on‑the‑job training.

TYPE: Permanent, full‑time
WORKING HOURS: 07:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday
SALARY: £25k–£27k depending on experience; a generous bonus may be considered once you develop sufficient skills and contribute to the company
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Burton-upon-Trent, near Derby (initially onsite; remote work may be considered after a few years)
Responsibilities
 * Short term: gain an in‑depth knowledge of all aspects of the company by shadowing and supporting the Director
 * Long term: maintain strong relationships and develop new relationships with global institutional investors and Japanese corporations, promoting the company and its ideas
 * Collaborate with the Business Development sales teams to further the company’s outreach
 * Role as a trainee: upload data; analyse and organise data; update the website; manage social media channels; format and upload reports; create presentations; provide project support; liaise with data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg); shadow and support the Director

 * Willingness to share new ideas and learning
 * University degree, minimum 2:1
 * MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
