Laboratory Technician
Contract Type: Temporary (6-month contract, with potential extension)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Work Schedule: Flexible start and finish times (core hours on-site: 10am–3pm; 7.5 hours per day)
Pay Rate: £12.94 – £14.49 per hour (dependent on experience)

Scope
A leading science and innovation-based company is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their Product Design & Development team. This role supports new product and device development, contributing to critical laboratory operations and testing activities that align with customer and internal requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent HND graduate or an individual with some laboratory experience to further their career in a professional R&D environment
Responsibilities:
* Maintains Equipment Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
* Perform laboratory testing according to established procedures and protocols
* Support data checking and write-up of experimental results
* Ensure lab equipment is well-maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly
* Troubleshoots breakdowns, maintains supplies, performs preventive maintenance, and calls for repairs.
* Accurately document activities in daily logs and equipment record books
* Assist in evaluating test data and resolving routine problems
* Maintain good lab practices and adhere to quality standards
About You:
* HND qualification in a relevant scientific field (minimum)
* Lab experience preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
* Ability to follow protocols precisely and work under direct supervision
* Strong organisational and communication skills
