Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer
Overview
The Production Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the routine, proactive and reactive maintenance of machinery within the injection moulding manufacturing areas.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The responsibilities and main duties for this position include, but are not limited to:-
Machinery Maintenance:
Maintain all ancillary equipment and conveyors in the Injection Moulding and Regrind departments.
Troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
Develop a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) plan and ensure the timely completion of work carried out.
Monitor equipment performance and maintain detailed maintenance records for each machine.
Organise the receipt, identification and appropriate storage of engineering materials/spares.
Ensure that a stock of essential spare parts is maintained on site to reduce downtime caused by breakdowns.
Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores and to pass instructions on between shifts.
Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal departments in finding ways to improve processes and increase machine reliability and performance.
Support with general site maintenance and oversee site contractors working in the Injection Moulding department.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all machinery under your control is maintained with Health and Safety in mind.
Carry out safety audits on each machine on a regular basis.
Ensure that housekeeping onsite is always maintained to a very high standard.
Report any health and safety issues to your Manager.
Use provided PPE in accordance with training and health and safety procedures.
Communication:
Inform the Production Manager or the Operations Manager of any issues with machines or equipment requiring attention.
Ensure that the Operations Manager and the Production Planner are fully aware of any breakdowns/lost time.
Other Duties:
Assist in the development/training of new employees.
Be able to work as part of a team or independently for long periods, without constant supervision.
To cover for sickness and holiday periods when requested.
To work overtime if required in order to meet customer/work demand.
Comply with requests from Team Leaders, Managers and the Directors of the company at all times.
Notify the company at least one hour before a shift commences if unable to attend work
